For a moment you probably thought you were reading some kind of streetwear newsletter again . It's prabably not wrong , but I would like to think that it could be more than that . Hence the article on one of my favorite players Allen Iverson .
At first , seeing that sports subject , you could have asked yourself what was the deal with that blog , if I was really sure about the theme of that blog . But should there really be a theme to a blog . My answer .... definitively yes in my opinion .
So what's mine ? Well that's hard to define , but it's something I am bathing in since my early days , something at the cross of different cultures and different movements . I am thinking about things I discovered along my path , I could take Henri Rousseau's
Tiger In A Tropical Storm for example . Indeed I am still stunned by how I was totally captured by that painting when I came to the London National Gallery ...
Weirdly there is a link between this visit and the sneakers sub-culture . The reason I was there was my raising interest in art . The fact that lots of artists have been requested to work on the urban canvas , that represent sneakers , was a good way to open my eyes on their works , and from there try to discover others .
It's the same process that got me interested in streetwear and fashion ... and years before it was also the same mecanic that drove me from early hip hop culture to basketball and from basketball to sneakers .
Thus this blog is maybe a try to explain this thin wire that links all my tastes and choices , this wire that could lead you straight to my home , my roots .
I have been thinking about this blog , for a long time , about the idea , about the subject .... about the language used . I am french , so why would I make this thing in english .... maybe simply to reach more people and at the same time give me a chance to be more fluent in english .
Several days ago , after a long time of hesitation , I decided to jump on the bandwagon , covering this end of year sneaker news . As I previously expressed , I will try to write more personal topics on things I like , still trying to maintain some kind of objectivity . I count on the opinion of my girlfriend for that , that can be sometimes more deadly than
The Bride . I hope also I will be permitted by some friends to tell their sneaker freak stories .
